Favourite Picks...
This week I have a bit of a thing for tapestry...I have a great vintage tapestry jacket as well as a fab 1960's black and white tapestry cape. Tapestry is back in and a great trend this spring. Inspired by a friend's amazing tapestry wedge shoes (ASOS) I have scoured ebay and bought a great pair from office. Obviously don't wear more than one tapestry thing at once unless you want to be mistaken for part of the furnishings!
Here I have searched through Etsy to come up with the best vintage tapestry picks of the moment...

sneak peak...
Here are some photos of the 15 piece collection of 'new' vintage shift dresses now available for sale. I love discovering dead stock (new items that have been stored away for 20 years or more, in this case for more than 30 years!) Each of these dresses are different. Each one has great detailing and cut, very simple but stylish. All are priced at only 20 euros each, available by private sale (see Violeta Vintage on Facebook), Etsy (once I get around to listing them!) or at the next Brick Lane BCN Vintage Market.

New Stock...
So yesterday I began the daunting task of photographing all the vintage stock that I have. I hope to stock my Etsy Vintage shop with more than 200 new pieces before the end of the month. Also Violeta Vintage is preparing for an open studio day, where customers who live in the Barcelona area can come and shop by appointment! All very exciting stuff but a lot of hard work...
I was very excited this week to acquire some dead stock from the early eighties- a selection of 15 shift dresses. Each dress is different with block colouring, pocket details and different cuts, necklines and fit. It's like buying a designers complete collection, and they're perfect for spring! I'll try and get some photos up over the next week:)

A House Filled With Vintage...
Getting ready for a vintage market is always great fun. Deciding what to take out of my ever expanding collection of great vintage pieces always brings about forgotten gems. This time was no exception, I pulled a few pieces out to add to my own wardrobe as well as some amazing unique pieces to sell at Brick Lane BCN vintage market. Here are some photos of what my living room looks like in the days leading up to the market...

Barcelona fashion - From rags to riches - (barcelona-metropolitan.com)
"We live in a society which has bought into excessive fashion consumption. Don’t feel guilty. We’ve all been there. But while there’s no obligation to change your ways, there are ample opportunities to take a new direction with the growth in the vintage clothing market, a trend that has steadily advanced in Barcelona thanks in part to people like British creative Aby Mackie".

A big thanks to Nicola Reid and to Metropolitan Magazine for this fantastic article on Violeta Vintage!

Top Five Picks...
These are my top five picks currently for sale on Etsy. Really loving beaded, embroidered, tassled and block coloured pieces. Anything with contrast in texture and structure of the 1950's. So many great pieces to choose from...why would you ever want or need to shop on the high street when you can buy, for the same price, a one off unique and often hand finished piece? LOVE vintage!

The Moon...
I'd forgotten how much I love the photographer Sarah Moon. Her work is so inspirational and beautiful, the fashion pics are so unique...it makes you want a piece of her world.
I'm working hard to get the vintage photographed and all in orer to list on my Violeta Vintage Etsy shop and of course all sorted for the much anticipated Brick Lane vintage market in a couple of weeks.
